A boy and his grandfather

While Michael was away last weekend, Chantal and Dominic came to play at grandpapa's!
What fun it was to watch the two of them - in the pool, in the sandbox, cooking up a great
steak! This is the stuff that makes the weekends so worthwhile.

May Madness

May is always a crazy month in our house! It seems that every weekend is taken up with some kind of celebration involving food, drink and lots of family and friends. So much fun! I love the month of May!

I think that Mother's Day, which is always special for me, was sufficiently covered in my previous post so let's talk about some of the other fun things May brought.

Pierre and I took the opportunity to spend some time with some dear friends during a CHOC (Children's Hospital of Orange County) fundraiser at the Anaheim Angels game. Dinner was great and the silent auction is always a draw, even though I wasn't a winner at any of them! Oh well! And who won the game you ask? The Angels of course!!

The following weekend was my birthday and the timing was perfect since the kids were back from Australia and I was able to get a great big hug from my sweet Dominic. Even though the kids were totally jet lagged, Pierre barbecued a great steak and chicken dinner and I really could not have felt more blessed. The flowers, shown below, were sent by my friend Wende in Canada. By the way, I'm not counting anymore.....

Dominic turned a year old in Australia and there is no way we could let such a wonderful occasion go by without some kind of celebration here with all of us. His BFF "Elmo" was the theme of the party and from the look of the backyard when all was done, everyone had a great time!

Since we didn't have enough birthday cake, it was time to celebrate Philippe's 21st birthday! He was anxious to taste all of the offerings at the neighborhood microbrewery. After all, it was his first taste of beer... (cough, cough) I can hardly believe that my youngest child is 21. How is that possible? We haven't aged at all?
