Let the pampering begin.....

This was the first Mother's Day that I didn't have both my kids with me. With Chantal in Australia, Philippe was working double duty on this one. Pierre, Philippe and Brandy took me to the Oak Creek Golf Course for a Mother's Day brunch and I must admit it is one of my favorite outings of the year. I enjoy sitting outside and watching all the kids play on the grass, making Mother's Day exactly what it should be - a day to celebrate Mothers and families and all the memories that come with it. Their laughter took me back to the days when my kids were that age.

As I looked at my 21 year old "baby" , I couldn't help but to see what an awesome man he is becoming. And afterwards, as I spoke to my daughter, a mother herself, I couldn't help but think of all of the moments when she herself was a toddler and I was running after her in the same way she is running after her son. The more things change, the more they remain the same.

I never have wanted to take the credit for anything the kids have done (nor the blame). They are who they are, and nothing I have done has changed that. My job was to make sure that they were safe, their basic needs taken care of and loved unconditionally - something that is often easier said that done.

But I was blessed in a very special way and I am thankful that they are such great people. I am not sure what the years ahead will bring but I pray that they will remain safe and have their needs taken care of, and know that I will always love them unconditionally.

Seattle's Best

Call it serendipity, call it a coincidence or just call it fun, Pierre had a wonderful time last week when he met up with our nephew Alain and his wife Melissa. They were visiting Seattle and Pierre was on a business trip and so... dinner and coffee was a must!

Oncle Pierre had the blessing of meeting the newest member of the Gagnon clan, Maya. Born in September, this little angel brought smiles to her uncle's day. According to her newest fan, Maya is the sweetest. Watch out Mom and Dad, looks like she will be melting many hearts in the future.

Pierre chalked it up to "making memories" and although, I wish I could have had the chance to hug that beautiful little girl, I know that this is just one more reason for the Gagnon clan to get together soon..... Just think of the fun that Dominic and Maya would have!
